The school received £8910 in Grant this year.
£3000 has been used to provide 60 hours of quality coached experiences for our pupils both in and out of the school day. All pupils throughout the school have benefited from this. Activities provided have included Dance and Karate. Pupils have taken part in a Gymnastics festival and a sports hall athletics event.
£1500 has been used to provide teachers with 30 hours of INSET alongside a qualified PE teacher. Lessons have been planned jointly and staff have benefited from working alongside a subject specialist. This is a sustainable resource, as teachers are gaining skills for future teaching; additionally pupils are getting further specialist provision.
Areas covered have been Gymnastics, Dance, Fundamental Skills and Ball skills.
We have also committed to provide all pupils an additional years swimming tuition with swimming coaches. Therefore all pupils receive 2 years tuition instead of one. The transport and tuition costs have been subsidised from the grant by £2074.
We have used £1260 to subsidise a residential adventurous activities three day course for Y6. This has meant that it was far more affordable for parents and increased the number of pupils able to take advantage of this opportunity. Pupils have gained in confidence and self-help skills and the experience increases their resilience.
We have used £680 to pay for transport to allow us to attend a number of outside competitions and festivals organised through local PE networks.
We used £396 to purchase New Netball posts and stands. This has been used in class PE lessons and also with 12 pupils outside of curriculum time. The pupils have gained new skills and competed internally with each other. This is a resource which will benefit us over many years.
Pupils have therefore enjoyed access to the new resources. Y3 and Y4 have been able to prolong their swimming activity and made good progress. Teachers report feeling more confident in delivering PE themselves and have benefited from observing subject specialists.
